March 12, 2012, Leones

Dear Family,

How are you? I am well—the week has gone quite quickly, as usual. We
had a ‘splash’ in Leones this week; the missionaries from Bell Ville
and Marcos Juárez came for the day to help us out. We ended out
finding many people; now the challenge is to get them to come to
church. I feel that we're starting to have a good support network for
them. The members of the branch here are getting a bit more united, a
bit more spiritual, we'll be starting to have biweekly activities,
etc.

This week I've been studying the Restoration of the Gospel. The
importance of it has stood out. Were it not that God Himself speaks to
us now in these days, just as He did in the past, faith would be based
on a collection of sacred writings written thousands of years ago,
compiled under the reign of Roman tyrrany and translated and
transfigured over countless centuries. I am convinced that it's a
miracle that the Bible has survived! I am grateful that God speaks
from the Heavens to prophets today, that He has restored priesthood
authority, that the ordinances of salvation exist again in the earth
and the thereby the power of godliness is manifest. I am grateful for
the light of scripture revealed in modern times. I am grateful for the
testimony of the Bible. I am grateful that God answers prayers and
provides individual guidance. I know that this is the restored Church
of Jesus Christ.

I'm glad to hear that Levi's mission preparation continues moving
along—when are the papers going in? Also, a missionary is arriving
here in Córdoba in July from Bow Island!—Elder Dallas Jassman. I fail
to recognize the name, but I'll be pleased to have another one of us!

Love,

Elder Schlachter

meeting), Hermana Frías (who is training this transfer), Hermana
