January 6, 2010 Missionary Training Center

Querido Familia, [Dear Family]

[How have you been this week? I'm doing fine — this week went by fast and I have only eleven days left before I leave for Argentina!  So, I am working in Spanish and praying to God that He teaches me what He wants to teach me before I go to Argentina.]

[We had a good planning meeting for our district last Thursday.  We were thinking about how we can have the Holy Ghost with us always, with an emphasis on reverence and always being ready to receive revelation.  I wrote questions to help me to remember how I was using my days and what I need to improve.]

How am I inviting others to come unto Christ?
What should I have done better today?
How will I do it better tomorrow?
How will the Lord Jesus Christ feel about this resolve? (Is it what He wants? Is it adequate, or best?)

Yo escribí: "All other missionaries here are our investigators—how do I want to teach these investigators? How must I behave around them?"

[These questions have helped me this week to improve and focus myself on missionary work.  Also, we were talking about the example that we are to other districts in our zone.  I wrote, "All other missionaries here are our investigators—how do I want to teach these investigators? How must I behave around them?" I know that I need to give my whole self to Jesus Christ in order to provide an acceptable sacrifice to him and these goals will help us, especially me.]

I know that obedience is the first law of heaven, the path and method of becoming, the power of freedom, to do right and receive light and strength, and the revealing of the heart and deepest desire. May the Saviour bless me with the power of His Atonement to purify my nature!

[Also this past week was a fast Sunday.  I fasted to know how to be able to have more of the Lord's grace with me and how I can apply His atonement and be more grateful to Him.  Some of the things I received were that I need to focus more on my studying the scriptures and especially pondering more on the words of God with questions for Him.  Also, I need more obedience with exactness.  I wrote,"I know that obedience is the first law of heaven, the path and method of becoming, the power of freedom, to do right and receive light and strength, and the revealing of the heart and deepest desire. May the Saviour bless me with the power of His Atonement to purify my nature!"

Entonces, necesito ir—no tengo mucho mas tiempo.

Well, I have to go — I don't have much more time.  I will write to you on paper as well today.  I know that Jesus Christ lives and that this Gospel is true.]

Os amo,  [I love you]
